Here are directions for inserting your BannerLink HTML code using a plain
text editor:
Use a browser to open your page (example: http://www.NameOfMyCompany.com/mypage.html)
Save As yourcopy.html on your local disk
Start an authoring tool (e.g. Notepad) and Open
yourcopy.html
Copy and Paste* your Bannerlink HTML code and Save
yourcopy.html
Use a browser to view the page and see your changes
Start an FTP client and open a connection
to your server
Do you have permission to write to the Web server's page root?
Yes: put yourcopy.htm into the proper
location using FTP. No: put yourcopy.htm in your home directory
and ask the system administrator or webmaster to move it for you.
Use a browser to go to your page and verify your changes
*Copying is a standard function that almost all Windows and
Mac applications have. To Copy, highlight the text using the mouse and choose Edit
from the menu bar at the top and then select Copy
(Ctrl C). To Paste, place the cursor where you want to begin the BannerLink
HTML code and select Edit then select Paste
(Ctrl V).
